Thinking about the rocks

1.

I think about that time I
Went cliff jumping in Tahoe
And the moment I jumped I screamed
Watching my life
Rush past me
I landed in the water
A bit close to the rocks

But I lived to write this poem
I think about falling a lot

I am still falling in love
This fall feels good but
I’ve been falling
For a while
And sometimes I wonder
If I’m actually headed
A bit too close to the rocks

Sometimes I feel like I’m falling into
You
Our bodies are merging into
One

Other times I remember that he
And I are only
Two
They may bury me next to him
But I will die in this body
Alone
